Summit Resort, 新社古堡庄园 (Xinshe Castle) in Taichung 台中

Located in Taichung 台中, Summit resort 新社古堡庄园 also known as Xinshe Castle or Xinshe mansion is a medieval themed guesthouse. Albeit manmade, the architecture and park set-up can easily make you believe you're somewhere in Europe. However, the backdrop and castles were just a small chunk of what blew me away. What amazed me the most was the breathtaking autumn view, showered with maple leaves.

As I was admiring the autumn view, something purple caught my attention: lavender. I didn't know they could exist in the same season! (I have my bimbo moments too.)

With such a romantic backdrop, I'm not surprised to find out this is one of the many popular locations for wedding photoshoots.

Admission charges were NT$250 (RM30). Whereas for children and senior citizens, it was NT$150 (RM20). However, each ticket came with a voucher worth NT$100 for any sort of purchases including food and beverages. You can opt to have lunch in one of the castles. Play pretend for a minute you're from the royal family. Lunch set which comes with soup, main course, rice, fruits and etc (basically a full bento set) ranges approximately between NT$200 to NT$600. 

We had a really good steak and some meat sauce pasta but that was so-so. 

Worth a visit? If you enjoy taking photos, I'd say why not. We were there for about 3 hours which was pretty decent, so make sure you plan accordingly.
