The night market in Taichung 台中 that you cannot missed: Feng Chia Night Market 逢甲夜市
One of the many things you'll hear about Taiwan is the abundance of night markets. Every corner you take, you are bound to walk into one. The things you'll find in common is none other than the infamous street food. Ranging from fried chicken pieces, grilled sausages and many more.
The largest night market in Taiwan turns out to be Feng Chia Night Market (at least according to Wikipedia) and it's located in Taichung 台中.
You'll be able to buy some cheap ass clothes (my personal opinion, quality isn't the best) and FOOD. However, I did notice after walking around for a while, there is quite a fair bit of repetition. Meaning, quantity of the stalls do not equal varieties available.
I do wonder... where are all these humans coming from???!!! Why so many people.
Some of the food we managed to taste that night included this torched beef sprinkled in pink salt. Surprisingly yummy. The beef seemed like it was taken out from the freezer but the end product was very juicy and tasty!
Next up. Grilled prawn with a very lousily taken photo, oops. Again, sprinkled with just salt and pepper. Grilled to crisp, I didn't even bother peeling off the skin.
Both stalls offer other flavours but we decided to play safe. Also because me and my travel partner decided to divide and conquer. So there was no form of communication beforehand to ensure diversification in selecting the flavours lol, AND, He cannot read a word of any Chinese characters so he might have nodded away to whatever flavour the seller was offering (he might have nodded to give his soul away and he wouldn't have known).
Best part of the night is when we found this passageway where the stalls were operating out of mini shop outlets. There were carnival games games (eg. shoot this down and get a bear), arcade games and of course food outlets.
We settled for this quaint little shop that sold thin crust cheese mentaiko pizza. All of the things I like in one creation. Tokyo Little Flower 东京小花. (Link to their Facebook page here)
Pizza and beer can never go wrong. Mmmmm... For those who can't read the menu, translated as below:

Pizza and beer can never go wrong. Mmmmm... For those who can't read the menu, translated as below:
- Signature mentaiko cheese pizza NTD80
- Milk and mentaiko pizza with something that resembles mocha NTD100
- Milk and cheese pizza NTD80
- Mentaiko mixed with udon noodles NTD90
- Seasonal special pizza NTD100
Topping may looked plain but the pizza was really delicious. The pizza dough base to topping ratio was well balanced.
Would I recommend Feng Chia Night Market? OF COURSE. Even if you've already had dinner, drop by and take a slow stroll. You'll be surprised how much more food you'd be able to fit in your belly.
