Nomihodai 飲み放題: drink all you can in Tokyo, Japan
I'm sure most of you out there are familiar with the concept of all-you-can-eat aka buffet but what about all-you-can-drink? Oh yes, you've read it right! This post is meant for all you alcoholics out there.
飲み放題 nomihodai is a very popular "activity" in Japan. Simply put, you pay x amount of money, within the designated timeframe, you'll get to drink as much as you can/want. Drinks selection includes beer, shochu, sake, highball, whisky and etc. (raining alcohol!!!)
We went to Kinno-Kura in Shibuya because it seems like most online sources have quoted it to be one of the cheapest if not THE cheapest to do nomihodai. We were beyond excited upon entering the place, thinking about all the all alcohol we're about to consume, UNLIMITED but was faced with our first obstacle, communication. The staffs cannot speak English, at all.
Information that we could decipher out of the staffs were basically as much as I could decipher out from this poster.
Basically, the poster pointed out the different packages as follow:
90 minutes - 800 Yen
120 minutes - 1000 Yen
180 minutes - 1500 Yen
And if you'd like to include beer that would be an additional 200 Yen. Personal opinion, no point getting that extra. It's so gassy it will screw up your consumption rate.
FYI you get free flow edamame too! It was all rainbows and butterflies until we found out... We're supposed to order an additional 2 ala carte per person on top of the charges for the nomihodai package. Which means, you will definitely be paying more than the indicated amount on the poster. Not sure if I'd like to compliment them on their marketing techniques *shrug* On the high note, that friend chicken cartilage was sure as hell tasty.
Some other things you should take note of is that your last order is 30 minutes prior to your "end time". AND you can only order 1 drinks at a time.
Towards the end of the day, we spent about 2000 Yen per pax so is it really cheaper? Not so sure about that but it's definitely an experience worth trying!
